These are the standards our newsroom holds itself to. They exist so that when we get something wrong — which will happen — you know exactly what we promised and can hold us to it.

News is reported, opinion is labeled

Every opinion piece and analysis column carries a visible disclaimer noting that the views are the author’s own, not an institutional position of The Global Berean. We hold that distinction strictly: reporters don’t editorialize in news copy, and columnists aren’t asked to sound neutral.

Sourcing and accuracy

• We prefer on-record, named sources, and disclose when a source is granted anonymity and why.
• Contested factual claims are checked against multiple independent sources before publication.
• Scripture citations are checked against the cited translation before an article is published.
• Every article passes through human editorial review before it goes live — nothing is published automatically, regardless of what tooling assists our writers in drafting it.

Independence

The Global Berean isn’t owned by, or editorially answerable to, any single denomination, ministry, or advertiser. Our Statement of Faith describes the convictions of our editorial team; it does not determine which parts of the global church we cover fairly.

Corrections

When we get a fact wrong, we correct it visibly rather than editing it away quietly. See our full Corrections Policy for how that works and how to report an error.

Global coverage

A majority of the world’s Christians live outside Europe and North America, and we assign coverage accordingly rather than defaulting to a Western vantage point on every story.

Reader comments are held for review before publication and moderated against our community covenant — a separate, narrower standard about conduct, not accuracy.
