In Acts 17:11, Luke describes a synagogue in Berea whose members “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” They weren’t skeptics — they were eager. They just refused to take anything secondhand. That posture is the entire reason this publication exists, and it’s where the name comes from.

What we do

The Global Berean reports on the global church — news, analysis, opinion, and devotional writing — and reads current events in the light of Scripture rather than treating faith and the news as separate beats. We cover a church that is younger, larger, and more geographically diverse than most Western coverage assumes; the center of gravity of world Christianity has moved, and our reporting tries to reflect where the church actually is, not just where its old publishing houses were built.

• News is reported, opinion is labeled.Every opinion piece carries a visible disclaimer — the views are the author’s, not an institutional position — and we hold that line strictly. See our Editorial Standards.
• We test what we’re told. The Global Berean posture applies to us, too. When we get something wrong, we say so — see our Corrections Policy.
• We’re not the property of one denomination. Our own convictions are described plainly in our Statement of Faith, but our reporting covers the full breadth of the global church fairly, not just the parts that share every one of our views.
